TTT Showing wrap by team member Karen - WOO HOO 3rd place winners!
Gisborne finished the TTT year in style. Yes, we went out with a bang and were 3rd out of 50 teams !!
The final TTT event for 2018 was held over the weekend at ‘sunny’ WPNEC. The Victorian weather gods threw everything at us…we had sunshine, flies, humidity, hail, rain and a breeze. However, the showies came through proving they are not just fair weather riders.
Congrats to the five Gisborne Gals who fronted and all came home with pieces of satin for their efforts. Unfortunately one of our riders was unable to join us, Melissa, as her beloved Luci had been very unwell. Happy to report Miss Luci is on the improve. The composite team were 20th so a superb effort from Kara and Kristie. Big congratulations to Bianca Fiorentino & Ollie for winning the Level 2 Highpoint. They are now 2 points off level 1 and had a fantastic day with a win in SOP, Champ Led, Reserve Ridden, a win in MMS, 2nd in rider and best ed.
Cathy and Ritzy again showed they were a polished pair with Champion SOP and reserve ridden in Level 4. Pointing up to level 3 and topping off a super successful weekend. Highpoint winners at the first HRCAV individual showing championships and taking out Supreme Ridden Exhibit. Superb effort. Ruby and I placed in all our level 1 classes, including 6th in MMS where we did jump 60cm (at trot only, madam got her tongue over the bit in canter and we had a stop, however 2nd go and popped over in trot…pretty happy with that) Kara and Boo picked up 2nd and Res Led (to Ollie & Bianca) and 3rd in the rider class. Great effort considering Boo was the smallest horse in Level 2. Kristie made an appearance in the show ring again after a hiatus of 5 years, picking up plenty of great placings, including 2nd in their ridden and a 3rd in level 1 rider.
That’s it for TTT events for 2018. We start 2019 in March with TTT CTD at Sale. For those thinking of entering, don’t forget qualification criteria. Sale is a lovely, lovely ground and the showjumps are the ones used at World Cup events, so they’re pretty spectacular. While it’s a fair drive, its worth the hike for those who are jumping.
Ruby and I wish you all a very safe and happy holiday period. Enjoy time with family, friends and fur babies.
