Additional information for competitors entered in the Sunday 9th February event postponed due to extreme weather conditions (posted 21st February 2014)
A note from Event Secretary, Lucy Nicholson:
Hi everyone,
We are delighted to confirm that the Ricky Bannister Showjumping Day Fundraiser has been rescheduled to Saturday 5th April.
Every care has been taken to maximise the opportunity for those of you who have entered to be able to ride on the new date. It has been tricky for us to find an alternative date with such busy calendars for Officials, HRCAV Events & EA Events plus Gisborne PC rally days and events with whom we share our grounds.
I can also confirm that thankfully our Club Grounds, IR Robertson Reserve, Gisborne South has not been affected by the recent bushfires.
So what do you need to do?
All entries are automatically carried over to the new date so you only need to get in touch if you cannot make Saturday 5th April.
If you wish to scratch, please email me at gdarc.eventsecretary@gmail.com and let me know if you,
a) would like a full refund?
b) would like to donate all or part of your entry fee to the Ricky Bannister fund?
We are reopening for entries. All the details are on the new Event Program
We are very much looking forward to seeing you there on a cooler and safer day - a fabulous day is planned!
Thanks and kindest regards

Sunday 5th February 2014 event postponed due to extreme weather conditions (posted 6th February 2014)
A note from Event Secretary, Lucy Nicholson:
Hi everyone,
I would firstly like to offer our sincere thanks to you for supporting our Showjumping Day Fundraiser for Ricky Bannister. We have received an amazing number of entries and have been looking forward to welcoming you all to our beautiful club grounds for a great day of competition and fundraising - sponsors, officials, volunteers, riders and supporters alike.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of Sponsors, without whom we simply wouldn't be able to run this event.
Unfortunately the extreme weather forecast for this weekend does not share our enthusiasm for a successful and safe event. Temperatures are now expected to reach 36 - 41 on Saturday followed by 35 - 40 on Sunday so today the Organising Committee and Officials made the decision to postpone this event. Whilst this is disappointing to us all it is the right decision based on horse and human health, safety and welfare. We thank you for your understanding.
As the event is postponed we will be in touch again soon with the new date. All the necessary information you need relating to changing the date will be provided at this time. Coincidently you may have or may like to read the feature, EXTREME WEATHER GUIDELINES FOR HRCAV EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES, in the January 2014 edition of Chaff Chat which starts on page 63. It may answer any immediate questions you may have. Thank you for your patience.
We wish you, your families and animals all the best through this heatwave and high fire risk period.
Stay safe and well.
Kind regards,
Lucy
